One night shortly after Seth was born, I was at my friend's house. She mentioned to me that one of Seth's eyes had a dark spot in it. I hadn't noticed it before, at least if I had noticed it, I didn't think it was anything to worry about. At one of Seth's well child check-ups I mentioned it to the pediatrician and she sent us to see a pediatric ophthalmologist.
The doctor at Primary Children's Hospital checked Seth's eyes, and said that it looked like the problem was only with the iris, but he does have a Coloboma. (If you don't want to look at the link, coloboma is where part of the eye didn't form properly.) The doctor thought it would be prudent of him to further exam Seth under anesthesia to make sure that his initial diagnosis was correct.
So, this Wednesday we will be taking Seth to Primary Children's to have the surgery done. I'll update as soon as we know more, but I'm hoping there won't be any more problems.

Another sucker
Brody woke up early last Sunday morning and I was still tired so I told him he could watch a show and I would hold him (hoping I could fall back to sleep). When I turned the TV on there was an infomercial for the Monster 1200. I admit, although I have never bought anything off of the infomercials, I have definitely been tempted--and I almost always get sucked in and watch them all the way through. We started watching this one, and I decided to be a nice mom and change the channel to something a Brody might be a little more interested in. A few minutes later Brody said, "Mom, I need my own monster." After talking to him, he really did want the steam cleaner, and was paying attention. Guess they did a good job selling that thing!
And the search continues...
I know it has been a very long time since I have updated, and since it is the last day of the month I decided I better hurry and write a post so I can say I at least posted in the month of February!
As many of you have heard, our house hunting saga continues. The real estate agent called us the end of January and said the Mortgage Insurance company didn't feel like the sellers of the home were in enough financial distress, so they wouldn't pay the claim that the lender had submitted. The lender is asking for $40,000 more, and we aren't willing to pay that. There is still a slight chance that we could get the house. We have submitted another offer to the bank, with a slightly higher offer than our previous one, in hopes that the bank will look at it again and change their mind, but I'm not really getting my hopes up since we first started the process on this house in November.

Cute Conversations with Brody
On our drive to church on Sunday we were talking about the people we would see-Brody loves so many of our friends in the ward. We asked him, "what other friends are we going to see at church today?" His reply with a smile on his face, "Jesus."
Our little Brody is doing really well with the transition of moving to Grandma's house, but I think he is a little bit confused on why we are staying here so long. We have talked to him about saying goodbye to the old house and that we're going to get a new one, but he is constantly surprised at finding items (decorations and even cleaning supplies) that were in our home here. We have a statue of Christ that was on our landing in our old house. I didn't want anything to happen to it so it is in the formal living room here. Brody just discovered it yesterday. Here is the conversation.
Brody: Momma, look! My Jesus is at Grandma's house! (As he goes over and practically gives the statue a hug)
Me: Yes Brody, Jesus is at Grandma's house. Remember, we said goodbye to the old house so we brought Jesus with us. We don't have a house right now.
Brody, with his hands on his cheeks: Oh no!

Our Christmas/Moving Frenzy
I'm finally feeling like I have enough time to write a post! We have now officially moved out/sold our previous home and are living with Rob's parents. Brody is in heaven having his grandma around all the time. Here's a quick review of the past week (sans pictures again!).
We had dinner Christmas Eve at Rob's house with all his siblings. After opening presents we went home, put the boys to bed and the rest of the gifts around the tree. Luckily we had wrapped everything beforehand so we were actually able to go to bed at a decent hour.
Christmas morning was fun. Apparently we went a little overboard though because Brody was sick of opening gifts before he even got to the ones from me and Rob. I'll have to keep that in mind for next year. Anyway, Brody was really cute and excited to see all the gifts and especially wanted to play with his new golf set. We got ready for the day and then went to Rob's parents home for breakfast and then just hung around a bit. We then ventured through quite a bit of snow to get to my parents house (the whole 3-4 miles). We had dinner there and then just relaxed until we went home.
It's a good thing Christmas day was pretty easy because the next week was crazy. Rob's sister and her husband came to our house on Friday and watched the boys while we packed up the house. It was so nice to have them there. Our original plan was to rent a truck and move out last Saturday, but I talked to the storage facility on Friday and it had snowed so much they recommended we wait as long as possible to move because so many trucks were getting stuck in the snow. After hearing that we decided to cancel moving all the big stuff, and just move as many boxes as possible in our car, his dad's suburban and my brother's van. (Since it was just going to be a few things I had also called all my brothers and told them we didn't need them anymore). Saturday came and we started moving things and it just continued from there. We ended up moving all day and moved pretty much everything except my piano. I couldn't believe it. We cleaned the house Monday morning, went and signed the papers, and I had piano movers come and get my piano to put in storage on Tuesday and locked the doors and left the key behind me. (And for those of you that know me well, I left my coat in the house too, duh.)
We did also find out on Monday that the bank was going to accept our offer on the home in South Jordan. We are really excited about that, but there still is a bit of paperwork and things to do, so it is not quite official yet.
