Time flies when you're having fun...or sleep deprived!

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. It isn't that I haven't had time to update my blog since our Luke has joined our family, but I would rather rest than stay up and do it! Last night he only woke up once to eat though, so that was really nice.

I was induced a couple of days before my due date after an ultrasound showed that he was expected to be about 9 lbs 11 oz. Fortunately, he was 9 lbs 6 oz instead!! He had a bit of a rough time with his blood sugars the first couple of days, and then jaundice, but by his two week appointment our pediatrician was happy with his progress. At his two month appointment last week he weighed 13 lbs, so any concerns we had with his eating habits are long gone!!

We love having 'Little Luke' in our family. We like trying to make him laugh and his brothers love seeing him smile.  Also, I apparently can't figure out where all the pictures of him are on our computer.  We took over 100 in our own little photo shoot at the hospital that turned out darling.  But, ever since Rob got his new camera and software for it I've been at a loss as to how to do any photo stuff.  I'll try and get Rob to show me where the pictures are, but I know it won't be until next week!

Any Guesses?

My due date is quickly approaching and I have had a lot of people making 'requests' on when I should have the baby. I thought it would be fun to see if anyone can guess when this baby will actually come and how much he will weigh!

Full disclosure is needed to make it fair for everyone! I am due June 23, so tomorrow I will be 39 weeks. I had Brody 2 days before my due date, and Seth came 1 week early. Both labors started on their own. Brody was 8 lbs 11 oz and Seth weighed 8 lbs 14 oz. I didn't have gestational diabetes with either of my other pregnancies, but I do with this one (which may cause babies to weigh more). I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, and it showed the baby was about 7 lbs (plus or minus a pound!). At my appointment yesterday I was dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced.

I think that's all the details to help you with your guesses! I'm hoping for sooner rather than later (obviously)!

Brody and Seth are so excited to have the baby come live in our house. We got to babysit my nephew last week and could not leave him alone. I have a feeling it is going to be a little difficult to keep them from constantly touching the baby. I may have to lock him in my room so he could have peace and quiet!!

An overdue update

I thought I would hurry and do an update since it has been about 7 months since my last one.  We have had lots of things going on since my last post-both good and bad.  Sorry though, I don't think there will be any pictures.

In case you haven't heard, we found out in November that we are expecting another baby.  (Found out in January that it is another little boy!)

I turned 30 in January.  It was a bit traumatic for me, but only because I still think/feel like I could be in college.  Rob surprised me by contacting a couple of my roommates and inviting them over for a German Chocolate Cheesecake that he created.  It was very rich, and delicious!

Seth turned 3 in February.  All he wanted was a green star cake.  It made it really easy.  I had planned on trying out fondant, but he ended up with the flu, so by the time we did his party, I threw on some green cream cheese frosting with star sprinkles.  I'm glad he is so easy to please.

Along with Seth having the flu, Brody also had it, I had a sinus infection, and then Brody ended up having a reaction to the Tamiflu, which brought us to the ER.  It was a really fun few weeks!!

We took the boys to the Living Planet Aquarium for Seth's birthday (when we were all feeling better) and had a great time.  Seth loves any kind of animal, and loved petting the Stingray like it was a dog!

This past week I found out that I have developed borderline Gestational Diabetes.  I meet with a dietitian tomorrow and have another OB appointment next week.  At my last appointment I was measuring 4 weeks big, so hopefully I won't continue at that same rate!  I have also decided I probably need to take a sabbatical from all the cooking blogs that I love to read since the recipes I get from them are usually desserts, and too hard to pass up!

Brody is turning 5 in May and is very excited that he gets to go to Kindergarten next year.  I am excited too, although I'm sure I'll be sad when he actually starts.  Seth also gets to go to his first year of preschool next year!

We are also attempting to finish our backyard.  It is hard to know what to do, and in what order, but I will be thrilled when we are done!  Especially when we have a fence so I can send the boys in the back to play.
